Visit with artist Naomi Chambers to discuss her installation from making home here!

Join Naomi Chambers for a tour of her installation followed by casual discussion and Q&A. Chambers’ installation "Black Community Survival Conference Tea Party Ice Cream Social Moonlit Cinema, articulates elements of the Black Panthers’ concept of radical intercommunalism through various “stations” including a coffee and tea stop, an open-air theatre, an ice cream social and an ode to Harriet Tubman. After the tour, members will gather with Chambers over coffee and pastries to learn more about her artistic practice and experience installing at the Mattress Factory alongside four other artists in the brand-new exhibition, making home here.

Naomi Chambers, a Pittsburgh-based painter and assemblage artist, also runs The Flower House in Wilkinsburg, which is a creative space cultivated by group-centered artists who practice cooperative economics to empower women and families.
